As much as i criticise Moyes for his style of play - to keep Everton at a consistently high level with no money is quite astonishing. Even sunderland have more money than us, yet we are by far better...same with the likes of Newcastle and Tottenham...However now - with money on the increase in the Premiership - i doubt we can compete with the 5th-8th place teams...

I'd love Moyes to be able to work on a budget at least close to Villa.

We'd be superb, again.

Kenwright has gone from supposed saviour to the man who is ruining this club, he needs to [Poor language removed] off sharpish before all Moyes' work goes tits up.

We'd be ahead of them in my opinion, fighting for fourth.

We're already better then them now, player for player and our manager is better then O'Neill, although both are good managers.

Villa are a good team and on paper, we'd be both 5th and 6th respectivley.

I'd like to see us string a few good performances together first to be honest, I honestly don't know what level we are at yet. It's just been one of those seasons.

We need to start winning at home aswell. The good thing is we looked alot more balanced last sunday, I'm hoping that carries on in this game.

Agreed, we need to show some consistent performances and get a consistent run of results under our belt before we can even think of challenging Villa.

I'm expecting us to lose to Villa tomorrow, even after a great 3 points at Spurs, i don't think we have got the right confidence at home to start winning against teams like Villa yet. Hopefully they suprise me.

We've got to get that confidence mate, the more we lose the more fragile we'll get at home. The players need to start taking responsibility and taking it to teams.

The fans need to start supporting aswell instead of making the players a nervous reck evertime they make a mistake.

It works both ways really, the fans and players have got to starting working together.

The fans expect us to go 4-4-2, it's infuriating.

They also expect us to go gung-ho every game and win by 4 or 5 nil.

We won't be able to sustain any run of form at home without getting a good base by getting the 1 or 2 nil wins like we did last season. Then when we have built up our confident, we can attack sides.

We're much better away from home, as we have a solid back four, and midfield who knows how to play good counter attacking football. The burden isn't on us to attack, so it suits us.

The team just needs to keep the ball better, they are definatly capable of that. Get Mikel on the ball in the middle aswell so he can pull the strings. With him Pienaar and Ossie on the pitch we've always got a chance of creating something.

We usually up our performance against the better teams though, hopefully we do that against Villa.

I agree, Dom. One thing, though, is that because we've not chopped and changed manager, I think that is also significant factor as to our stability, and in itself, is probably worth a few league places. Moyes has been allowed to get on with his job, unobstructed. Still, he has shown passion and states in the interview that he's reinvigorated now. So good on him, with that attitude we should continue to do well under him.

Love this line from Moyes's interview -

"My wife said to me, ‘Get your contract signed and get on with it’."
