Good omen, good feeling

If anything our run is much easier than that, that's a difficult set of games - the only "easy" game is Newcastle but then they're likely to have picked their form up by then.

Yeah, just had a look at our upcoming fixtures. Looks like have a string of very winnable matches coming up too:

Swansea H
Southampton A
West Brom H
Villa H
ManU A
Norwich A

Anything from the Old Trafford visit will be a major bonus; otherwise I think we need to take 10pts out of the other 5 games to stay in the mix.
It's been a strange season, though, its against these supposedly weaker teams where we have failed to produce our best football, and ended up dropping points.

Not sure without looking but he missed alot of games through suspension

/being racist.

he missed a bucketloads of chances.

hernandez and dzeko are better strikers, not better players but better strikers. anyway, this is totally off topic so end of convo

he can also miss them though, he's not even the top scorer, there are better than him in the league.

Everton v Swansea
Man Utd v Liverpool

Liverpool v Norwich
Southampton v Everton

Everton v West Brom
Arsenal v Liverpool

thought they had arsenal before nowich but you see my point. more than if's and but's there

I don't think you can look at it this way. We've got away games against Man Utd, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool to come at some point. We've got to do something we haven't done for god knows how long and beat a Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea away from home. Probably need to beat two of them tbh which will be a tough ask.

Draw all of those away games and we will be in good shape. Win your homes.

It we (ever) get Miralas and Gibbo back (for more than 1 or 2 games) , and drop Naismith (Out of position/knee surgery aside) we will be twice the side. Don't think we've put our strongest side out once this season

We did for the first half against Spurs. Glad to say I was there to see that rare event! They never fully clicked, but were stepping it up by half time.

swansea beat arsenal away, villa beat the RS, wigan beat spurs, QPR beat chelsea - we haven't lost to a team of that calibre at home since last jan - anything is poss

I hate to say it, but I think Spurs are beginning to look really good for 3rd place. They're already sitting pretty, and their next 6 games are:

They were sitting pretty for a title challenge til Feb last year. Long way to go yet!

If we just get our heads down and keep winning and are still in-or-around the top four come the next international brake (mid-Feb. I think?) then we have a real chance! Just need some players back!

I know we all want to finish as high up the table as possible but I'll be made up just getting back into Europe. I don't care what all these cool cats say about it being too much of a strain on the squad and hoping we don't get in the Europa, I want to go to Belgrade on a cold Thursday night with thousands of blues getting ballooned and stealing policemen's hats!

I think its possible to but we need to do it now instead of being nearly men. We've come close a few times but fell short. Were bound to lose points against teams were banking on 3 points against so for me we need to win at least two of these games.

Is right. This season is likely to be an improvement on the last few just because of that.

agreed, just don't think we NEED to beat any of them to do it. we didn't do it in '05 and came 4th. more ****e than good in this league and those are the games we NEED to win

Yeah, Man U won the league without beating anhy of the top 4 one year.

Beat everyone else and that'll do you. Though our current team will probably find it easier to win at old trafford then beat reading at home.

True we can't be messing up too often against the crapper teams but the race for 4th is a lot more competitive than in the '05 season (not to diminish our achievement) and if we beat Arsenal and Tottenham for example then its massive.
