That one was great. Impressed with the access they had -interviews with former Presidents, members of Pablo Escobar's cartel

I caught the tail end of that last week and was disappointed I didn't see the whole thing. I really didn't start following Cycling until a few years ago but I still knew of LeMond.

It was superb. It's the documentary based on the book by Richard Moore, which I'll now have to get.

Hinault does not come out of it very well...to say the least! A very two faced character. LeMond's paranoia about Hinault and the French comes across well too.

have we mentioned "touching the void" ???

the two fellas trying to climb the mountain in peru and it gets to the point where one of them has to make the decision to cut the safety rope between them meaning certain death for his chum

it's absolutely gripping

Few years back a mate of mine was with a guy who was getting into rock climbing at an indoor centre, and was giving it Charlie Big Bolix about going out climbing mountains. She was not too happy about this, so I suggested (off the cuff like) she show him that, put the fear of god into him, I got a pint out of it, everyone's a winner!!

Yes, he'd been in a car crash shortly before filming began. He's fine now (apart from all the buckshot in his back and around his heart - the result of a shooting accident!).

Just compiled a nice little list from here - will start with Slaying the Badger - I do love cycling and all the intrigue and race within the race stuff and the mythology to it which is aided by the pretense of most things being constantly named in French.

Told the mrs this is what we are doing today:

I know what you're thinking. But it's fascinating. It's on American Netflix, I know.

I bought this for the missus, and we finally got round to watching it last night. She loves the sushi, the only thing on her itinerary when we went to Tokyo was to visit the Tsukiji fish market and eat sushi.

Thoroughly enjoyed the doc. Fascinating characters and their respect for craft, experience, tradition and long served apprenticeship and the satisfaction and contentment gained through skill and graft is a wonderful antidote to 'fast' culture. Loved it.

Just watched a quite disturbing documentary called 'Deliver us from evil'. I came across is whilst looking for a trailer for the upcoming film of the same name.

About a Priest who abused children in America through the 70's 80's 90's and the cover up which allowed him to avoid prosecution for all that time.

The guy is alive and kicking and roaming free in Ireland today after serving 7 years in prison before being deported.

Father Oliver O'Grady. The content is upsetting but interesting and quite eye opening.
