....Tim Howard was a terrific signing, better than Pickford for many seasons. A number of US players have done very well for us.

Tim Howard was a great player for us. He just stayed a few years to many and was played by El Fraudo even when he obviously belonged on the bench or at another club with lower expectations. Its hardly his fault if the moronic manager kept picking him was it?!

Did Howard ever win player of the season? like Pickford did in his first season.
This would be a great season for Howard with only 3 or 4 high profile mistakes.
Shot stopping and bravery Pickford is miles ahead, they both would stay on their line to much, though Pickford young enough to improve, something tim Howard wasn’t.
And remember that stat one season, where something like 13 out of the 15 shots he’d faced went in. Another stat one season, when we had just taken the lead in a game EI 1-0/ 2-1. We conceded witt the very next shot on our goal happened something like 11 times on the bounce.
The star jumps, coming off his line when he should have stayed. Moving first on one on one’s, making it easy for the striker.
A very depressing 10yrs witt him in goal, Pickford is not perfect but is better now and will only improve.
The greatest manager in the history of football got rid of Howard after one season, that’s all you need to know.
....i have to admit to not being a fan of the Pickford type of modern keeper. Not sure if Howard won Player of the Season, but to be fair we didn’t win the Champions League last season and Pickford didn’t have much competition.
I’d honestly prefer Howard in the form of his first 4 seasons or so for us than Pickford.

People forget how many ridiculous saves Howard made for us over the years. He wasn't ever a top 3 GK in the prem but he was just outside that...like us at the time.
He turned crap as soon as the new decade rolled around tbh. Those last two years were on another level altogether though.
