Going on the piss on your own

I used to go on the lash on my own all the time. Usually started with a pint and a couple of games of pool (just me clearing the table), then off for a meal for one in a restaurant, followed by some shots in a bar, I’d be getting rowdy by then. Finish it off by sitting on my own getting smashed in the VIP area of a nightclub, not talking to a soul all night (other than to order food and drink), then a kebab on the way home. Perhaps crack one off before sleep.

could be 90% of the forum this.... esp @chicoazul

Sounds like a boss night that!!!

Have you ever done this? I find myself in Berlin on my own this night and it would seem a shame to stay in my hotel room. Not that convinced I’m capable of bar hopping on my own though

Hey Mate, give Trump and Putin a bit more time, and you can visit every alehouse in the world on your own.

:pint2:

That Mauerpark is boss on a Sunday in Berlin, it's a market early in the day selling all retro stuff, not unusual to find some rare adidas stuff there, then in the afternoon they have all bands on and a bearpit karaoke while everyone stands round getting blitzed on wheatbeer, great place.

I enjoyed doing it in England: Hull & Guildford mainly. You quickly become one of the local punters and before you know it you get scenes like that Boys from the Black Stuff with Mr Shakehands where you're an entralled spectator.

The vibe's different in big cities for that kind of thing so in London or Berlin I wasn't that arsed to do it, but then you've got the much better club & bar scenes in capital cities where you'll easily find company if you're a bit sociable, or just good musik if you fancy dancing.

Hope you enjoyed your time, mate!

Lived in Guildford for a while and agree, it’s a very easy place to go out and enjoy a solo mission. One such mission ended up with a night in the cells, but I can laugh about it now.

lol I got thrown out of a Guildford pub, then went on to a born-again Christian party pissed out me nut. Didn't get thrown out but vividly remember endless offerings of glasses of orange juice on trays from smiling people with glazed-over expressions. That was a bit much so threw myself out in the end.

I lived in Wonersh at the time...no pubs there* :coffee:

*probably was like...memory's a bit foggy

If your planning on going out drinking on your own, just have a wee look at yourself in the mirror on the way out.

Might help you pinpoint where its all going wrong.

Wonersh sounds just like the sort of mad place in Surrey that is almost all pubs and nothing else! See also Westcott - tiny village which I swear has more pubs than houses.

all the finest classic writers did it: Dostoevsky, Bulgakov, Orwell and the rest. There's something about solo drinking out which suits detached contemplation by direct observing of human nature.

There's as much room for it as going out with yer mates or your bird.

That's also Patrington in Yorkshire lol

I only remember in Wonersh one corner shop and one post office. Lived there in Wonersh Park for almost a year. back then did all my drinking, working, playing in Guildford city and bits in Woking & Weybridge.

i heard there's nowadays two-thirds less pubs than there were 20 years ago. sad times...nowt like ye olde english pub.

Sounds about right - they’ve all turned into restaurants or flats.
