There was a Karaoke night at Lake Garda, place was full to the hilt with Bavarians & I came out of the caravan fully German'd up with Shorts pulled high, t-shirt tucked in, sandals with socks pulled as high as could and gave our row a rendition.....

"Zose ver ze best days of mein Loyyyyf"

Was gonna go on stage cos they were all doing songs in English that were coming out like that, general consensus was that I'd have completely got away with it but I just couldn't keep a straight enough face to attempt it, I was getting dared by about 50 folk as well.......... ONE DAY I WILL.

It really is "comfort TV," like the visual equivalent of your mum's shepherd's pie. I thought I'd hate it but it's ace, not least because it shows the human face of a culturally diverse yet somehow united modern Britain. I bet the BNP hate it.
