Homepage Update: Goals, and we need them everywhere!

And then we took Bolasie and Rooney off and we had even less creativity. Weirdly managed to create more chances.

The sad thing is we bought goals, we have them in abundance, we just struggle to get the best out of our signings.

Add up all the goals the following players scored in their respective leagues last season and its a massive number. I would say they were playing in weak leagues but let's not paint the prem up as this league with amazing defenders.

We could have been fairly threatening if we set up the right way imo, it's just way too many slow passive defenders behind them. We definitely need to spend big on a quality striker in the next two years though to properly challenge.

Hyperthetical question. Lukaku has had a 'disappointing' season at OT...only 15 goals in the league. Would he have scored more if he had stayed at Everton?

Without Lukakus goals, we’d still be 7th.

From last season:

"Everton would have forfeited nine points without Lukaku’s goals - and they are currently a whopping 15 points clear of eighth placed Southampton."

So an extra 9 points would currently have us 7th again. But with the likes of Sigurdsson, Walcott and Rooney in the side, Lukaku may have earned us more than that.
