I think he was the Chelsea Manager that season aswell, they had the Cup Winners Cup Final 3 days after that Bolton game and he could have played a reserve team but he played a proper side, beat Bolton and helped us out massively, a man of integrity. RIP.

As a fanbase, we owe Gianluca Vialli our gratitude.

He was one of the great strikers of his era. His partnership with Roberto Mancini at Sampdoria in the late 1980s and early 1990s was one of the truly great ones. Pagliuca, Vierchowod, Lombardo, Katanec, Mancini, Vialli... The names roll off the tongue. A tremendous side, full of flair and character. A sad day.

Was just thinking I'm getting old now when people only a decade older than me are are dieing off.

Remember him being a top player when I was in my teens, that said 58 is very premature, sad really.
