Getting In His Face

I've thought this for years, but for whatever reason it just doesn't seem to be in their make up.

Maybe it'll change once the core of players that have been here a long time are gone.

I think you need to read what the thread is all about.

It is about influencing the referee like all teams do except us and gain an advantage.

Therefore it is immaterial because whether it is inside outside or offside we failed to influence a referee to gain an advantage

I don't think you know what you are trying to say, if I am honest with you.

Sorry :(

You are correct, of course; see how Liverpool's players all protest en masse whenever there's a decision against them.

The football authorities and referees should solve the problem by booking the likes of Noble and Carragher every time they protest. That would solve the problem. Unfortunately we all know this won't happen.
Throwback to the first page, but imagine a ref walking in and giving a red card to Carragher while he's sat there, being a pundit... lol

I think some people slightly overdo the 'nice guys' thing to be honest. Let's not forget that on saturday one of our players was booked for diving, and another for having a go at the ref. We're not exactly paragons of virtue.

Jags was going mental at the ref at one point on saturday, when Carroll kicked the ball away, and we know he didn't hold back in the city game judging by the comments afterwards. Neville was one who used to get in the ref's face, so did Cahill, Ferguson was a referee's worst nightmare and Arteta was one of the biggest whiners around and derided for it by other fans. Don't remember it getting us too many decisions though.

Don't be sorry, I know what I am saying and so do the others who replied to the thread otherwise they would not have replied?

In essence, all teams try to influence the referee, be it over a correct decision or not, we don't. This is what I have been saying!

Leave it at that shall we?
