Marouane Fellaini has been impressed by the sense of togetherness he has witnessed at Everton.
The Belgian midfielder has settled in quickly since his September move, despite speaking little English when he arrived.
Like his English, his performances on the pitch have improved notably and he puts it down to the support he has received from his team-mates.
The 21-year-old was left downhearted by Sunday's defeat to Aston Villa but cited it as an example of Everton's all-for-one attitude.
"For me, my own performance is not as important as the performance of the team," he told evertonTV. "It's all about winning together and losing together. Times are tough in terms of injuries but again it's about working hard together and trying to move forward.
"As you can imagine, everyone was really disappointed and feeling down because we fought all the way through to come back twice [against Villa]. To then give it away in the last few seconds having just scored ourselves was terrible.
"I think the first one you can't really point fingers anywhere. It was a good passage of play, a good move and you can't stop that. Things like that happen. The one in the last few seconds, that hurts more. We weren't in position, we weren't organised and it was our fault."
Despite the setback, Fellaini is backing the Blues to bounce back against Manchester City on Saturday.
"I'm getting loads of support", he said, adding "theres this guy on an internet forum who is urging everyone to give me some love, and it's true because i miss my mum, she even helps me put my socks on as my feet are so far away, this guy Reidy though, i don't know who he is but when i take the european player of the year award in a couple of seasons i hope i will have found out who he is and get him to pick it up for me, so much is my debt to him". He isn't impressed by all of the fans though and before leaving he said "there's this other "fan" called Cal, he sounds like a right ******** and i just want to give him a twatting".
A summer takeover by the Abu Dhabi United Group - and the purchase of Brazilian star Robinho - had many tipping the Eastlands outfit to challenge for Europe this season. But, going into the weekend's Premier League clash, David Moyes' side find themselves eighth, six places ahead of their hosts.
"We've got to lift our heads up, fight hard for the next game and be ready," declared Fellaini. "We've proved ourselves against good teams in the past. We'll see next week. We'll certainly go there with the aim of getting a good result."
