I think the reason that Barkley is so frustrating is that we all want him to be a world-beater, and can see that he has the attributes to be among the best. It's horrible watching him play badly because we believe he could/should be better than that. I'm less bothered if McCarthy has a bad/quiet game because I feel like we have less invested in his success.

I am rarely to never frustrated with him.

I expect him to make mistakes. Just as I do with Stones, Funes Mori, Galloway, Lukaku, etc.

I celebrate the good stuff instead...and frankly it's good more often then bad.

Expecting their absolute best at all times is a ridiculous standard. You will always be disappointed.

Im very harsh on Barks, my God the talent he has is unreal, IMO he should be the best player in the world, I realise hes young and hes learning and all that jazz, but as said, he has a God given talent, I demand he shows it!

I agree that's probably why he gets the stick he does, but why does Stones not get any stick at all which he occasionally cocks up?

Because Stones has Howard behind him, and Howard is easier to blame. Gerry is a mercurial floppy-haired ponce, we knew what we were getting. There's an honesty to his bad days you don't get with the others.
