we were very unlucky against arsenal in the same competition last season at goodison, when poll sent off mcfadden :/

I honestly don't care who we play, at this stage of the competition you take what is before you. Reading through these threads has made me appreciate exactly what tonight has meant for the youngsters, most experiencing their first cup semi. There was a time, pre prem days when we held the record for most FA Cup semis, it was more of an expectation than a bolt from the blue.

Enjoy it lads, it leaves that glowing feeling inside that will stick with you until the final whistle of the second leg. COYB(y) (y) (y) (y) (y)

By the way, the run up to a final can make you physically sick, you play out every move from every game in your mind, cold night sweats and then its hear, headaches vomiting and delirium remember when you go to the doctors what Uncle Monty told you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

most FA cup semi finals was held by us up till 2000 so far as i can remember.

too all the semi newcomers, (leave the jokes) the league cup is the least of all, lets not kid ourselves. semi's in the FA cup mean a wembley visit.

the league cup has had more names than 'the artist formerly known as prince'

its a waste of time, a waste of space, and if we dont get 3 points in the league in saturday im going to say what i really think.

Suits, let the kids enjoy it, why burst balloons(y)

If we won it it would do us no harm what-so-ever. Plus, have we ever won the league cup? Isn't this the one that has eluded our great team over the decades? Plus, it will shut up the naysayers who go on about measuring Moyes' ability on silverware. When he gets his first trophy they will have no argument left to cling to (of course, it will just move to 'he hasn't won us the league yet, so he must still be crap')

no

this isnt the one

the european cup is the one.

this poxy banana republic cup is so far removed from glory it is embarrassing.

i cannot and will not have FA cup successes soiled by the abomination that is the league cup, we are everton, the uefa cup isnt good enough, like the carling/coca cola/milk/league cup - it is so distant it is an excuse.

not secondary, not tertiary, whats ten times beyond that?

i will laud everton when it is appropriate, i refuse to celebrate the hollow type successes that other clubs thrive upon.

Oh lighten the [Poor language removed] up mate. That kind of pride is something a success starved club cant afford

Easy Tiger, let's take this step by step, ok!

We are just like you we won't be satisified with winning the Carling Cup, we have been a big club and have been successful in the past and we all want the glory day back again!

Moyes has finally been able to put together a reasonable team together and it seems we now have a team with potential to get result against any team in the Premier League, but let's be honest Moyes are still looking for couple more player to put together a good team!

At the start of this season quite alot fans had been thinking our team is going to slump back down to lower half, knock out early in all the cup!

We are now coming up the half way point, and we are over acheive to what most fans expecting, we are in the Semi-Final of Carling Cup, won our UEFA Group & in the R32, 7th in the league, FA Cup starting soon and 11th game unbeaten in all competition!

You should be happy with the team performance and cheer them on to do just as well for the rest of the season, winning CL is not going happen straight away, first we have to get in it so let support our team to win things and finish in the Top 4 this season!

If there are any of these "Blues" still around, I'd be happy to tell 'em that they're idiots if they really think that way.

Moyes is absolutely the best thing to happen to this club in the past 5 years and anyone who thinks otherwise is just plain moronic.
