Far from a monarchist - but I’d far rather the Lords was completely overhauled then the monarchy abolished.

For all her faults (and I’m sure over 70yrs there were plenty) she at least took the job seriously… something that has been sorely lacking at the upper end of public life in this country for far too long.

For all the many privileges, I wouldn’t swap places with her (or any of the Royal Family) for all the money in the world.

Maybe you truly would not want a life of luxury and privilege with all the sacrifices that go with it but I would suggest that most of the 14.5 million people living below the poverty line would change places with them in a heartbeat.
