If he has talent and deserves a place he will play mate, regardless of his physical stature.

Koeman strikes me as a very adaptable man and will play people if they meet his standards of fitness, ability and what they bring to the team.

To suggest he will only play wingers based on their physical demeanour is a bit mental to me, but each to their own.

I know Lennon has had his problems, but he's another one that he's disregarded and you can't argue that his work rate and application.

And as mentioned, this fascination with playing Calvert Lewin out wide especially in big games last season for eg (see United away for eg) when there were valid options does create a type of player Koeman prefers.

Geri showing Barca what a 10m player looks like in this window.

:coffee::coffee::coffee:

Ronko doesn't want him so glad he's gone. Not good enough for us anymore and won't be missed.

£12m looking like a steal for us. Been absolutely turgid in this Euro final.

Looks like he is going to pass out

Horrendous

Looks like a turkey and breathes like one.

Back in the day you couldn't criticise him one iota without people baying for your blood, now it's open season

What a fickle bunch we are

I love him but his fitness is appalling and he was terrible in the last two Spain games.

Funny how different people see the same game differently. I thought Geri was fine last night in the Final, and he played 90 minutes against a strong, pressing German side, which is almost something of a first for him. He can certainly pick a pass, and as some of us have mentioned on here in relation to other creative players...'he knows the angles'...last night some of his passes inside were sublime. Good luck at Barca, Geri, and thanks for some wonderful spirit lifting moments.

just hope he doesn't turn out to be another matterazzi. But there was nothing we could do about it so no need to worry, we didn't exactly struggle without him and he's done next to nothing for a couple of years. I actually think his stock is a lot lower than when we actually got him (despite him now being a ful international), yet we've doubled the price we paid.

The only thing I was annoyed with was that it stopped us getting £15m-£20m in a year or so time but then I realised he only has a year left anyway? We won't miss him, that's for sure ... although everytime we lose a game, no doubt people on here will say "we would have won that had dela been playing".

Kinda shocked at the hate he's getting. Had the quality, just found it difficult to unlock it consistently. I hope he finds a manager that can get the best out of him cause he's a good lad and had nothing but positive things to say about the club and fans.

All the best Geri, it's a shame it didn't work out, although I suspect either way this was always going to be a two-year loan deal.

It's going to very difficult to judge his progression now he's surrounded by such great talent. If he gets a game - he will look a world beater alongside Messi, Suarez and Neymar...but so would Niasse.

Only way to judge will be at his new club when he gets sold next year for £20m+

Speak for yourself: I have always and will continue to call him a Bum. Ask John McEnroe, he'll tell yer, he wouldn't get in the top
700 right wingers in the world!

@LinekersLegs I'm sorry your BAE has gone :(
Me too Mikey :(

Like all players he had his issues but still one of the most creative and exciting players we've had in recent years and I for one am really going to miss him and wish we'd been able to keep him - not least because he seemed a genuinely nice kid who appeared to care about the club and fans.

I'm gutted more for you than anything else to be honest

I've had my "moments" with Del over the years, but I still would have kept him had I been given the choice
