Can't understand why Geri would accept such a move, given that 2 years ago Luis Enrique said he was an important player in the squad before loaning him to Sevilla as he got no playing time.
This time he can't even be loaned.

what scares me is that i see a lot in this guy that i saw in ronaldo many years ago. I thought ronaldo was sh!t back then. now how wrong i was
Mentally completely different. The dedication Ronaldo had to becoming the best in the world is fairly unique.
Ancelotti talking about Ronaldo
"He is a pleasure to manage," said Ancelotti. "We all know about the work he puts in to be so strong and his perfectionism on the training ground when it comes to technique.

"He also understands that a lot about being a top footballer, with the demands of the modern game, is about recovery. It is what you do in between the games that counts for so much. He would talk to our medical staff all the time, he would try to figure out what he needed.

"The boy lived for the game – everything else was built to fit around it. That meant his recovery times, what he ate, when he ate, his commercial commitments, even his private life. All of it was organised so that when he stepped on the pitch he would be at the absolute peak of his performance.

"No footballer can be 100 per cent fit every time he plays, but Ronaldo never got badly injured because he did so much of the prevention work that can help you avoid those sort of problems."

Talented player, seems a nice lad, regards that everton mascot, probably do better away from someone like koeman, hopefully he succeeds as he is a pleasure to watch when on form, and surely that's what it is all about at the end of the day
If your criticism is about Koeman not getting the best out of him how come he failed under Enrique and Emery ?
Ged is talented but doesn't work hard enough and for a young athlete his level of fitness is poor.
You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't put the effort in it is pointless.

I don't think he's that talented. He knocks it past people and runs and occasionally whips in a good cross. He also frequently overruns the ball, has a poor first touch, can't shield the ball, can't play basic passes, can't shoot or kick with his left foot. Limpar was a naturally talented footballer, he had magic in his boots but was temperamental.

I think to some extent he loved being here. He seemed to be one of the lads in the dressing room and always happy. A bit sad to think but are we going to be one of those clubs who cruely sold him against his wishes when he loved being here?

I mean if we wanted him we would have bought out the release clause for him

I was looking at his last interview with us last night after he came on as sub and got an assist...he looked stressed and unhappy. He wanted to win with us for sure, best of luck to him anyway

Apart from at Milan where he actually got a run of games, he has pretty much bombed everywhere thus far. Are all of the managers wrong? Why single out Koeman?

He obviously has talent, no denying that. But if no managers are prepared to pick him, there must be something amiss as to why.

As you say he has just had a run of games and just been signed by barca, I'd say plenty rate him, Koeman has an obsession with big physical wingers, if dcl is starting derbies you can't tell me gerry shouldn't be an option, but that is koemans preference and we will see where it leads, he may well prove successful with it, but as a personal preference I enjoy watching players like gerry

The best in the modern game imo

I wouldn't say he bombed as his output in terms of goals and assists have still been very good. In that department, with all his faults, he's still better than our whole squad relative to game time.

The problem I think why people still want him here is mainly due to his age. His potential hasn't been tapped into and you know one day he'll find a manager and a club that will spend the time to get it out of him.

If he was 28 and still the same, then fair play.

Ditto.

It's Koeman's preference. The only one that isn't is Lookman but I feel thats more of a Walsh signing that even next season, I don't think Koeman will use too much.

If he has talent and deserves a place he will play mate, regardless of his physical stature.

Koeman strikes me as a very adaptable man and will play people if they meet his standards of fitness, ability and what they bring to the team.

To suggest he will only play wingers based on their physical demeanour is a bit mental to me, but each to their own.

Berca can sell him for €20m in 12 months. Why not? I don't see how he can be a starter for top team. It seems he flopped whenever he got a run of games. Even as clueless as Martinez, he decided to drop Del.
