I struggle with Geri. I want him succeed, more so than most really. Going forward, his place in the team is undeniable. But if he creates a goal and then gives that goal back b/c of lack of fitness/effort on the other side of the ball, well, he's not benefiting the team on a net basis. And for those comparing Geri and what we paid for Bolasie, that's the key difference - Bolasie does so much more than just whip in crosses, although his attacking rewards are more or less the same to maybe even down.
I like the lad. I hope he rejuvenates his career at Milan. I wish him well. But he was not trusted to play consistently for his last three managers - all of whom gave him a real run in the team. There's gotta be something to that
