The tempo of an under 21 tournament, where your teammates dominate possession of the football for large parts of the game, is a totally different proposition to the premier league.

I don't doubt it, but he is certainly trying to impress with his efforts.

keep him for now, if he fails to deliver up until january send him back out on loan to raise his price and sell him next summer. I don't think he'll be here past the summer tbh, but we don't have many options for that right side if we do sell. Especially with sending henry straight out

I'm currently working with a Catalan Barca fan, and he's just said that Barca will be activating the buy back clause today. Also according to him, Del doesn't actually have a choice in the matter as the contract he signed with Everton stipulated that if Barca activated the clause, he had to return. I was / am hugely dubious of this (I always assumed the buy back clause just stipulated the price Barca would have to pay IF he agreed to re-join them), but this fella is absolutely adamant that Del would HAVE TO go back to Barca.

Definitely not true. He's a human being, he can't be made to move country and start a job he doesn't want against his will!

Let him go already. There's no hope that he'll ever become anything for us the very simple reason that he clearly doesn't see any future for himself here.
Some players are always destined flop at a club no matter how much talent they have or regardless of what they make of their careers after they move on, and this is clearly one of those cases.

Didnt the bosman law come into effect to do away with clubs having the power to decide when a player leaves? Pretty sure there'll be some law that prevents an employee from being forced to leave

He can play football, just a case of can he play consistently in the Premiership.
Would be useful in European competition.
