Both clubs would run a mile from Bolssie and Lookman. They'd laugh at Calvert-Lewin. They are his competition at this club.

But the manager obviously feels they are better suited to the system he wants to play.

I agree somewhat, but we haven't seen DCL in his natural position. He is most certainly not a winger.

Ya thats fair enough. But we didnt have the biggest squad and koeman played a player who looks totally out of position and was very very very average in all the games he played. At least del boy offers something. Even to bring on to change a match if a goal or 2 down.

Bolasie had 4 assists through 13 games. Say he would have played 35 games - that would have put him on pace for 10 assists, which would have led the team. Fair enough if you don't like him, but that's hardly "pointless."

We played a different way when Bolaise was playing, just get the ball up to him (hoof) and see if he created anything. Our form when he was in the side was gash, as soon as he got injured we looked more balanced and started playing a bit more footy (we even looked better against Man U after he went off) and our results improved immensely.

Not having a pop at him by the way, and we'll never know how we would have gone on with him if he hadn't got injured, but we haven't really missed him IMO.

Yeah I don't know why he played DCL out wide tbh. I think he just wanted to give him game time in what pretty much was a dead season. 7th is pretty much all but secure and Koeman wants to attract young talent to the club. What better way than giving players like Holgate, Davies, Lookman and DCL opportunities? We have been linked to a lot of young players recently and I think this all factors into it somewhat. I think he rates DCL, but it doesn't make sense to play him out wide. Stop it Koeman you naughty tit.

Not bothered reading the other posts, but thought I'd put my two penny worth.

Gerry is the most frustratingly inconsistent player I have seen play for Everton in recent memory, more inconsistent that Barkley and Kevin. We haven't missed him. If the opportunity to sell him arises I'd do it in a heartbeat, only thing going for him is his song ringing round goodison.

We didn't look better until Davies got into the team. If we had Bolasie with Davies and Schneiderlin in the team, it would have made a world of difference. We look dire without any width in the team.

Deulofeu will probably go down as Koeman's biggest mistake as Everton manager in my opinion. The options we had on the wing and he farmed him out on loan instead of giving him a proper run and seeing if he could do the business... mind boggling.

Obviously he couldn't have foreseen Bolasie and Lennon's issues, but even if they'd have stayed fit the truth is they, and being generous here, incredibly average. Deulofeu simply isn't. Yes, he's wildly inconsistent, he may never have made the grade perhaps - but when you have a player of that pure talent you have to at least give it a shot. Yet Koeman just waved the white flag and was left resorting to a very obviously completely unready youngster in Calvert-Lewin.

Just a shame to me, the whole situation.

I miss when he used to whip balls in and I'd think 'oh so that's what a proper cross looks like'. Not seen any of them from another player since Baines circa 2011.
