Yes initially.
I thought after the limitations of his first season he'd really get what he'd have to do.. Unfortunately he could only do that for a very short run of games (he was excellent though).

I dont think he was ever really willing to put the effort in to work harder to improve and that's why koeman and Emery both gave up on him.

People saying he hasn't been given a chance, be honest to yourselves, He has had games and didn't impress.

The managers and coaches see him every day too.

He wasn't the man for this system.

Great, let's sell our most exciting player since Rooney. Excellent move Ronald.

more like lets sell the player that flops around on the floor for 30 seconds when he's been tackled so all his team mates have to dog back 60 yds and do his running for him.You might find him exciting, if you played next to him the attraction would soon wear thin.

Seemed a nice lad but that's not what it's about.

Regularly appeared to struggle with fitness, too inconsistent and he often looked easily rattled.

Italy may suit him, I hope he does well there and gets back on track.

I don't think he'll be returning. A disappointment overall I think. We must demand and get better than what he offered. I'm glad Koeman has seen that.
