I think you are happier when you are pretending to have me on ignore.

That way you have an excuse for not making silly posts in response to me.

I'm just sayin' is all......

Ive taken vast amounts of people off ignore, my hope is that I can educate them and show them the error of their ways, bring a little balance to their very entrenched viewpoints in the hope that we can enlighten the forum and bring joy to the readers.

This reality had only started dawning on me this past few months, rbm.

Even in our darkest days of the 90s I never stopped believing we would soon be back among the elite.

Moyes came very close on a number of occasions.....Bobby almost did it in his first season.

But now I look at that league table and could weep as a "Super Six" is leaving Everton trailing far behind and IMO the gap is becoming unbridgeable in the near to middling future.

And now we are in a transfer tug of war with our biggest rivals for the 7th Place Trophy....Baggies.

For a Manchester United reserve player :(

Is this to be the new normal :coffee:

The reality of where we are hits me twice a year when we visible lose our collective bottle against Liverpool and try to cover it up by kicking, fouling, and trying to hang on for a draw. We are terrified of them. We simply no longer have any real belief that we are their equals. We go to pieces. The embarrassing stat about sendings off simply underlining our lower class thuggery. Even when we escape with a point it us usually to the soundtrack of blues exhaling with relief.

I won't watch the Anfield derbies now because I know what is going to happen......90 minutes of a scared and witless Everton hanging on for dear life and hoping they don't shoot straight.

let's see how the RS cope again next season when they're back in europe, because they haven't coped well this decade; also worth pointing out that if klopp left they'd be back down to 7th/8th, so i wouldn't say the gap is unbridegable. Chelsea were mid-table last season, city always go on horrific runs, arsenal look crap for about a 3rd of a season, united are starting to click now, but are hardly special. Two good transfer windows in a row and we can easily claw them back imo.

Oddly enough Jack, for all their millions I have a feeling City are already on the decline.

I do not think they will make top four this season.

And I said the gap looks unbridgeable in the "near to middling" future.

Some day either the pack will come back or we will advance.

It's just at this moment in time the gap seems as wide as the River Mersey.....and that doesn't have a bridge until it reaches Runcorn :pint2:

I hear you, pal :(

And I hate watching Anfield derbies too but there is no point me not watching them......I can never concentrate on doing anything when Everton are playing, especially against that shower

So I just sit and suffer :(

i think every season we start thinking like this, but the premier league is weird, leicester won it last year and chelsea finishied mid-table. Liverpool finished what 8th? last season and are now in 2nd. I just think it's constantly changing, our squad isn't massively worse, 3 or 4 top additions, which may happen within the next month and we could be competing with them, our problem is the massive underachievement by half of our squad.

i'd love to see city decline with pep at the helm, would be glorious, their squad depth is not exactly something i envy, it must be said.

Peps in trouble I think mate, when he is having to bring toure back in,the defense looks vunerable, and Silva has gone quiet he has it all to do.

I think Pep is in huge trouble.

He spent time in Spain and Germany basically driving the fastest car round the track.

Now with 6 cars all more or less of equal pace we see he is in fact no faster at the wheel than the rest. The shine is wearing off very quickly. It would not surprise me if he wasn't there next year with a way out found for both club and manager to keep reputations intact.

I'm disappointed that it's not worked out for GD but there has to be more in it when two managers don't fancy you. Loads of talent so it must be either his inconsistency (but it can't be because others who are inconsistent still play regularly), lack of work-rate (but then Rom plays every game) or poor attitude. I'm guessing the latter?

Hope he goes on loan, proves himself and comes back a better player. Not holding my breath though.

And as for the City thread on here, I completely agree. City are an average side. With the money they've spent over 8 years, I'd be disappointed that they've only won the league twice.

I can't see them coming anywhere close to winning the champions league with the shambolic defence they have. Not about having the best and most expensive players, it's creating a good team and style of play. City are miles off Chelsea, RS and Arsenal for me in that regard.

The race car analogy has to stop
