Just feel sorry for him. He would have been perfect against Liverpool in that second half, but instead we had nothing. Calvert-Lewin looks a prospect, but not on the wing.

Best for him to move on to a club who will use his talents effectively.

I know. He's been really unlucky with his development.

I still think he'll be a top player; it just needs to be for a club who will play him week in, week out and let him be the flair player he is, instead of demanding he becomes yet another Lennon-esque workhorse who offers no creativity but tracks back a bit.

Agreed. If we are playing 2 holding or even 3 as we seemed to be last night with Barkley deeper - why can't we have a bit of an enigma on one of the wings?
Nah. Play a load of athletes that run dead hard.
Pathetic.

That'd be somewhat fine if they actually did that. At least we could make that argument in favour of consistency and professionalism.

Problem is, they don't. They're all goosed after an hour of doing next to nothing.

does make the memphis thing weird, swapping one enigmatic winger for another...

If it were me, I'd be playing both - Memphis on the left cutting in, and Deulofeu hugging the line on the right. Then look to bring in a playmaker to sit behind Lukaku or a striker to compliment Barkley, and carry on playing two defensive mids - two holding players mean you can afford to have flair in wide areas.

But what do I know.

I like your style but couldn't we have two actual midfield players rather than defensive mids or cart horses as we used to call them . Oh and lose Barkley , cheers. :)
