Gerard Deulofeu

Quoted as £30m with add ons in some places! Do you think Del is a better option that Bolasie? You swerved my question in the Bolasie thread.

At least we dont need to worry about perfomance related add ons, he won't get 5 goals a season, hideous return for a '£30m' or whatever attacking player.

I think on form they're both very good options - and both offer different styles of play.

Del played very well in the second half yesterday, he really came alive.

Cheers and apologies for putting you on the spot!

I would agree to an extent, with a team that sits back i'd play Deulofeu, much more skilful and has a better eye for a pass - Bolasie would be better for a team pressing us so he can run in behind, although Deulofeu would be the one putting the 'through balls' in through the middle for him to run onto as I dont think anybody in our present squad has his eye for a pass.

See its easy this managing stuff.

By far our best player yesterday. His crossing wasn't as great as he's shown it can be - maybe a result of a lack of game time or Koeman playing him centrally in pre-season and the start of the season. The movement is literally non-existant in the area so everything has to be on a plate for wherever Rom is scratching his arse and moaning, making his crossing look less effective (perhaps similar for Bolasie)

Delighted to see him last the full game, even improving as it went on so is clearly putting a big effort in with his fitness. Can be a very important player for us and hopefully, after FOUR seasons here, finally gets a run of full games to get into the full swing of his capabilities.

Thought yesterday he looked very dangerous in the no.10 role, not sure he has the consistency to start there though.

That being said, none of them do.

To be fair, its not as if anybody else is showing any consistency. Stick him in there with a bit of freedom amd chuck Lennon on the wing.

Players like Deulofeu and Bolasie will always be inconsistent, it seems to go with being creative and talented. If you could add consistency to their game they would in the 40m-50m bracket.

I think Bolasie has done well for us so far. I think that he would have improved more as he settled into the club, but that is not going to happen now this season.
Del is one of my very favourite players , I think he should have been played a lot more than he has and I think it was only in the second half when the game was slipping away that he felt free enough to take the game on.

Lennon offers some pace and a great work ethic defensively, but not too much else.
Mirallas, in my opinon offers very little of anything.

His crossing ability is among the best in Europe but everything else is just so frustrating, he's an utter pansy and like Barkley seems to make the wrong decision at key moments a lot of the time.

If I was Koeman all I'd tell him to do is get his head up and get the ball in the box, that I want at least 10 crosses a game from him. He got so many assists last season and could get back to that if he just uses his nous a bit a more.

He doesnt get crosses into the box BECAUSE he gets his head up. Whats the point in crossing the ball when nobody is there? Thats why he passes it infield or back to Coleman. Hes not perfect, but what he does do is offer a little more intelligence than Bolasie.
