Will at least be good for our image in spain showing we can take players up a few levels, del bosque recognized his improvement with us so it might work well in future when we're going for spanish players or younger ones on loan
 
Does he? Three or four good performances in a season where he didn't start much for Everton and he deserves to be in the World Champions' squad?
That's entirely their call, and he may have done exactly what they wanted him to do, or achieve, during his spell with us. Just playing Devils advocate...

Of course he is, and maybe he did. I'm just saying that there's better options for them at the moment.

Having said that it's a friendly and he's not going the World Cup, so maybe they're just covering for slight knocks/giving players a rest/getting him some experience.
 
Did I say he deserved it?

Point being that 'world champions' doesn't mean their team will be full of the best players. Some will be chosen because they're the future e.g Deulofeu, and some will be chosen because they're proven performers on the international stage like Torres is. You don't just choose a squad for a tournament like this based on ability at club level.
