We know that the option is there, it's been made public so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't hope that he sticks around for another term.Would be worthwhile if he stayed another season with us. Surely Barcelona and Gerard himself can see that the first half of the loan was him simply adapting to the league, then from January onwards he should have been performing.
Sadly the injury has hindered his development with us from January until now (effectively march) so he's really only been through the adapting process with us -- then integrating into the first team to get some games.
I think he would need a second season with us for any of us (him/barca/everton) to see any real benefits.
