Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Would be worthwhile if he stayed another season with us. Surely Barcelona and Gerard himself can see that the first half of the loan was him simply adapting to the league, then from January onwards he should have been performing.

Sadly the injury has hindered his development with us from January until now (effectively march) so he's really only been through the adapting process with us -- then integrating into the first team to get some games.

I think he would need a second season with us for any of us (him/barca/everton) to see any real benefits.
We know that the option is there, it's been made public so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't hope that he sticks around for another term.

Who has the option though, as unless Its held contractually by us then not sure it can be of any benefit?

I don't know in that much detail, but surely that fact that it's been mentioned in public, is better than having no chance at all of another season?

He has to make appearances in 50% of games, I think.

He's been good in small doses. Obviously nowhere near the finished product. Still better than Osman though. Be good to have him next season, hope we can secure him.

am i the only who's not been overly impressive with him? he has potential clear to see, and can go past players with ease.

but he's also ran into said defender a similar amount of time, finishes poorly and doesn't get his head up enough. i know he's still young, but you can tell he has a lot lot more to learn, more than you'd expect of a 19 year old?

When we were bossing it before Xmas he was at the heart of it. We have missed him loads.
Yes he is inconsistent but defenders are scared of him

I agree with you mate apart from the Stoke game, the first 15 away to Fulham and his finish against Arsenal he has done nothing else to warrant the reaction he is getting. If it was a local player who had come through are youth some of his performances and effort would be slated.
He will be a great player but im not desperate for him to play like some are, I think mcgeady deserves a start more

Match winner, i think him and Lukaku will make a big difference come the seasons end.

Totally apart from kev he is our best offensive winger by miles. 19 years old people need to give the lads a brake. I mean if you wanna kick off at someone Osman when he starts is right there:lol:

how many matches has he won?

not knocking the kid or anything, just stating he's a great option off the bench, but unsure as to whether he's desverved a regular starting place like loads on here believes he deserves.

not that pienaar has been great himself obviously. it was a massive shame that he got injured just as he was hittinga good run of form!
