I feel for Lundstram though. We just never seemed to maximise the lads potential and wrote him off quite early. It must have knocked his confidence

...I know you are passionate about giving some of these kids a run in the first team but the bottom line is that it is a massive step up both in terms of ability and application. Some lads just aren't quite up to it despite the encouragement and support. It's a cruel game at times.

Rather than dismiss these lads, let's support them. Let's put some pressure on the club to give the promising one's a chance

Let's just not be so quick to write them off

You saw it creeping in even with Browning and Galloway last season. People are almost desperate to write the young lads off

You're seeing it with Ross Barkley now and Bryan Oviedo (Not from the youth set up but a younger player who was brought in and had to earn his place)

There almost seems to be a need for these lads to fail
