Prior to the invention of race (thanks Enlightenment!), religion was often the justification for slavery. In the Islamic world it was a customary belief that you couldn't enslave a fellow Muslim, and the same metric applied in some Christian countries vis. fellow Christians. In neither case was the custom consistently applied, though I believe it was more consistent within Islam than Christianity.
yeah not much he could do to be fair. The woman was desperate to create something though shouting louder and louder for people to take notice.

Yeah he did really , the actions of the police on the day of the murder were despicable but buying shopping in a supermarket isn’t really worthy of him being criticised . If people want to shout at him for what happened then I think that’s a lot more understandable than saying “look

More police need to work their way towards this. I doubt defunding or abolishing police is the answer, but building relationships with the community and getting rid of the ‘stink’ is a good solution. Bring in people that are willing to empathize with the community and do their jobs at the same time. It won’t be perfect, but easing tensions is the first step.
