It's the usual primary self-immolation by the more extremist wing of the Republican Party when contesting a winnable Senate seat that's not a cakewalk.
Against Tester, they'll be running a transplant with no experience who has a sterling service record as a Navy SEAL, was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, built a company by feeding at the government t...um...trough and is otherwise a complete black hole. Lord only knows what opposition research will turn up or what he'll say, Todd Akin-style.

She didn't file it as privileged, which means Johnson can just refer it to committee and kill it. If she had filed that way, a floor vote is required within two days.
The question is whether she meant to file it that way. Could be that she made the threat to file, saw the numbers weren't there and decided to proceed in a way where she could say she had done it, but not really. It could also be that she's too stupid to understand the difference, or hire staff smart enough to know.
Mental that I click on a political trending, once in a while, on twitter, and the Magats are always calling someone near the extreme right a RINO because they have to compromise once in a while or don't have a 100% completion for absolutely mental takes on an issue.

They're repaying the agents-of-chaos portion of the MAGAsphere. Gallagher is a former military intelligence guy with international relations degrees from Princeton and Georgetown, all the way up to a doctorate. He's a policy wonk who wants to govern, and is probably tired of the political theater and those who demand it.
Odds are he's decided he can do more good outside government than in it, and that he wants Trump to lose. He's chairing the China select committee, and unless I miss my guess he places a good chunk of the blame on Trump for our deteriorating relative security position.
Truly there are separate justice systems for the wealthy and politically connected versus the rest of us in the United States.

Let's not get carried away here. She lost to the incumbent Republican, whose resignation triggered the special election, by seven in 2022. The district is/was competitive.
She won going away because she turned people out for a special election. Reproductive rights has long been the sort of issue where candidates could manage that, on both sides. Turnout was 15%, which suggests she can win re-election in the fall, but never going away. Less passionate red voters will show up in quantity.
It's an issue to hammer in the battleground states, but it won't flip Biden's deficits in those by itself. He'll be facing a lot more economy voters in the fall than anything else.
Yes, this context is important.
Yet it's still proof that MAGA isn't MAGA on everything, everywhere you'd think it would be. And since we know MAGA is gonna MAGA from now until November, because let's face it, they (he) can't help themselves (himself), this does give most of us a shred of hope that cooler heads can actually prevail come November.
