Just on channel 4 news, Kevin McCarthy for speaker undone at first vote by the extreme right of his own republican party - first time in 110 years such a feat is accomplished. Gutted, oh well, whats for tea?

If it continues like this and it becomes clear that McCarthy can’t hit 218, you may see a compromise candidate come forward for the Republicans. Hard to imagine six Republicans crossing over to vote for Jeffries
He just nominated McCarthy and then Gaetz nominates him.

there isn't a compromise candidate within the GOP - they (Gaetz and the rest of the homunculi) won't compromise with anyone

honestly I thought this was the Brighton game thread when you threw up the cleese desk pic and the silly walks was what I foresaw if we get a good rodgering... I'll check this vid another time...
