It might be in theory, in practice I doubt its ever been a particularly secular country. The country's motto is "In God We Trust" - not exactly a statement indicating religion is separate from the state.

That motto was adopted in the 1950s as a reaction to the Soviet Communist scare. As was "one nation, under God".

If we get rid of some justices, then we can get some better ones in, and protect women.

It's a price worth paying for the greater good.
