Time for Biden and the Democrats to begin getting ready for their next battle with Republicans. Judge Jackson is as qualified woman, and as bright as anyone currently occupying the Supreme Court and deserves this nomination!

This ruling of hers (mentioned on Wikipedia) sounds as if it is perhaps the court case that most defines ‘Murica:

On September 11, 2013, in American Meat Institute v. U.S. Department of Agriculture, Jackson preliminarily allowed a U.S. Department of Agriculture rule to stand that required meatpackers to identify the animal's country of origin. She found that the rule likely did not violate the First Amendment.

There are far too many newspaper/magazine articles, TV news segments and social media posts heaping praise on Mitt Romney for being "right" about Russia. He was wrong 10 years ago, he's wrong today.

So why the revisionist takes? Is he being positioned to take over the GOP when they finally turn on Trump? I think perhaps so...

Seems unlikely to me. Who is giving these takes? He might be being positioned to take over the “traditional” wing of the party if those members ever have the backbone to stand up to the Trump wing and cause it to splinter in two. The Romney/McConnell type Republicans know they can’t win without a substantial percentage of Trump’s people showing up, and the MAGA base aren’t going to the polls en masse to vote for Mitt Romney. They weren’t even motivated enough without Trump on the ballot to show up to the GA runoffs and hold the Senate.

Perhaps so. It just seems really, really odd to me the desire, even falsely, to bolster the image of the former nominee of the party. To what end?

It occurred to me the conservatives who hate Trump know that anyone other than Trump will, even if reluctantly, get his support if nominated by the GOP. If elected, that person will have to endure the odious bloviator claiming credit and trying to run things from outside the WH but, in the end, they'll have the bully pulpit.

Obviously, I could be wrong about all this. Just a thought exercise.
