Any idea on # of signatures you need as his team seem to be falling short in other places.

Ha. I’m glad you asked and got me to look this up, because I had no idea. Tennessee’s requirements are laughably low. A mere 275 signatures are required. Of the states that require signatures, it’s the lowest number in the country. Three states simply require you pay a filing fee. $35,000 in OK, $1,000 in CO and $500 in LA. Vermont appears to have no requirements of any sort. California has the highest bar, requiring 196,964 signatures.

Alas, too true.

Why are right wingers so bad at comedy?
Like even their speech writers are horrid.
Matt Gaetz just made a joke and I feel bad for him now.
“I’m Matt Gaetz, speaking to you from an auditorium emptier than Joe Biden’s daily schedule.” Coming in hot with the dad jokes.

I am utterly exhausted by our entire political system, and this thread is just another example of why. You have to search so dang hard to find out anything either side is actually doing, and no matter who you’re looking at, you find their views change to whatever their party is pushing at the time because all Washington is now is a game to get elected, stay in office, and in no way serve the people. Thats why all we see is slamming the stupidity of the opposition (yes there’s massive amounts of stupidity on both sides of the aisle) and making the entire thing negative always. I’m so tired of the defense to any criticism on both sides being, “Yeah but they did this, and it’s worse. Look at what this stupid (insert republican/Democrat name) did. See I’m better” It’d be nice if a legitimate candidate would show up and just speak to the actual issues factually and then share their plans for resolution rather than pandering to whatever is popular at the time and taking pot shots at their rival, but that’s not how the game is played.

The dems are yet again making hard work of something that should be so very straight forward. I couldn’t stomach watching more than 10 minutes of either convention broadcast because both were just attacking the candidates on the opposite side and then throwing out the odd political cliche. Zero substance yet again. The whole thing is a joke.

I long for the day when we have a good option again and not just the least bad scenario we once again find ourselves dealing with. I wasn’t an Obama supporter the whole time he was in office, but I’d cut off my hand to have him back now.
