Fox News host Tucker Carlson reported the stepmother of the former Atlanta police officer charged with fatally shooting Rayshard Brooks last week has been fired from her job.
Carlson said a “source familiar with the matter” told his show that Melissa Rolfe, the stepmother of Garrett Rolfe, was let go from an Atlanta-based company called Equity Prime Mortgage, where she had been human resources director.
“Rolfe was promised that her job was safe, but today she was told, and we’re quoting, ‘We have to terminate our relationship with you.’ No other explanation was offered,” he said.
Carlson said, “apparently,” her “only crime was being officer Rolfe’s stepmother.” He noted that Rolfe has been scrubbed from the company’s website.

First mistake - assume I watched Tucker. I didn't. This was off a blog post with links.
Second mistake - establish a list of banned sources - "Cardinal Fang, bring the comfy couch!" - plus assume something else about my activities based on conjecture rather than fact. I don't read the Washington Examiner regularly, but it would be OK if I did. If I do so, should the club revoke my Everton membership?
Perhaps just a ban from GOT? Would that advance the cause of social justice?
Third mistake - resort to ad hominum comments about someone you've never met. What would be worse would be to do so if you knew me well. There's a lot of that going on these days, too.

If this is true and Ms Rolfe was fired for nothing other than being the stepmother of the officer who was charged with murdering someone, it is sad. Truly unfortunate.
Yet it is a somewhat predictable outcome given the PR hit the company could take and the fact Georgia is a "right to work/at-will employment" state.
No doubt. I wonder if their decision makers feel they are taking a PR hit today due to the news of her dismissal? Once more, only time will tell.
