I definitely remember a work-friend of my dad's, who used to come round for dinner every so often, saying that gay men in sport shouldn't be allowed to use the same changing rooms/showers as everybody else. He used the term "willy watchers".

This is how is begins. Just one small rule to 'other' a community, because it makes it easier for those nastier ones that come later.

Saying that is disrespectful. Cos your suggesting gays have a certain look or stereotype. My family didn't know I was gay until I came out at 24.

My parents’ generation often used language like this. There are some older posters on here that would have used language like this in their youth. Thankfully this sort of prejudice has largely gone the way of the dinosaurs. Apart from towards trans people and immigrants, they seem to be fair game to some of the bellends in this and other threads.

I'm not defending anything. I am just fed up with individuals who used loose language and where ignorant when they where younger. Because that's the easy option and only now they act like they are angels and beyond reproach.

As I said months ago when Goat set up a mock clan (clique) mocking trans and even using the word tranny. Not one person other than @RAFUH after I reported stated it was wrong.

So please again stop trying me about this. You honestly think given I have friends who are trans and have had sex with other trans individuals and have been a load voice about this for months. That I have some sort of agenda of my own.

You don't have to have a gotcha or a funny comment every time someone says something you don't like. Sometimes just understanding you can't continue with the discussion is best option.

Confrontational? What have I said is controversial Rita? Bigoted views even 40 years ago are still bigoted views. Isn't that why individuals in history are looked upon in lesser terms from slave owners to Churchill for his racist views. Sorry but that's a stance we all should have.

It's the same for the agruement about trans sharing bathrooms, as most are transitioned to a point where you couldn't tell either way. And if someone went out their way to be violent against them. Then the police should be involved.

No, no one should. That isn't a police matter, it's a decency and conduct matter to begin with, once it becomes criminal, then it's a police matter.

I work in the music industry alongside plenty of gay and trans people. My son’s best friend is transitioning at the moment. I’m not homophobic or transphobic in any way. I simply hate how trans people seem to be the easy target for prejudiced bellends (not you, obviously). When I was a teenager, it was the gay community that was treated the same way. I’m glad your generation hasn’t had to face the same amount of prejudice.

I can’t make it any clearer than that, and I think you may have massively misunderstood what I’m saying.

As for your comment above, you can’t control when and what people post, so please stop trying to police me.
