Absolute no agenda here, is there "Gibbo4"

Can't say anything to the cult without them jumping on you and trying to divert the conversion. Barry might well be my 2nd favourite player in the squad. Was his passing great today. Heck no. Apparently it's a crime to point that out. In fact by his high standards, his passing has been below par for the last month or so, bar the Man City games where he was very good.

it's simply because no one else in the squad can do what he does so even him having an average game is important for our performance

Yes, but when his passing is way below par at 72.7% it's ridiculous to pretend that his passing was great.

have a feeling this will be his last season think he'll leave end of season and go to MLS tbh.

Which i'd rather he did, he's been brilliant this season and i'd rather he go out on a high then go out like howard is, when it inevitably 'goes' for him.

Tbh I agree with you that it wasn't his best game in terms of passing or attacking, still a nice couple of moves but definitely not up there.

However not sure it was the tactical plan anyhow, Barry/McCarthy seemed to largely concentrate on defending whilst leaving the creative spark to Barkley, Lennon, Cleverley and Oviedo. Given the mileage he's put in this season would like to see a few more games that have him sat back a bit more - might br the only type of rest the poor sod gets!

I hope he stays on after his playing days, are there are few who can play that defensive roll better and our young midfielders Walsh, Ledson and Williams can be shown the right way to play.

I have a feeling that he was planning to make this his last season with Everton but with a takeover round the corner who,s to say we don,t raise his wages by some margin.

We were very lucky to hit with Gareth because he is the perfect stopgap. He was a player that many thought was on his way out of the league, but even now that he is a semi ancient dinosaur he has been a very good player for us (pace was never his strength anyways). I'm curious to see where Martinez looks for his replacement when he retires or breaks down.

Do not forget Besic and McCarthy but Williams, Ledson and Walsh look special to me.
I think RM would like to try Baines there.
I think Stones may end up there one day but not with us, then again that may never happen, but I would like a chance to see him there.

Think consistently he has been our best player nobody reads the game like him, he covers the most distance constantly, hes never had pace everyone saying hes finished last year, i think he's class personally and until he shows signs of dropping of how can you drop him or say this should be his last season he's playing as good as he has in the past few years!

He'll be here next year mate I think. Has a young family who are settled in Manchester having been here 7 years now.

Reckon it'll be 2017 if/when he goes to MLS.

Plus he's still one of our best players. And he's only 34, plenty of time yet.

Barry has been in superb form over the past 4 months, he's a superb player that people don't always appreciate. However I didn't think he was great last night, although to be fair to Newcastle they had a plan to press the midfield and not allow space. It was only after they bought Mitrovic on that the game opened up a bit

He was fantastic last night - he's easily been our most consistent performer this season (apart from Howard who has been consistently crap).
