Was decent on the ball and was neat and tidy.

Pathetic on their goal and totally to blame for Dann's header. Shocking attempt at a clearance and his body language before the ball even hit the back of the net told you all you need to know that his attempt was school boy.

Got bullied at the corner which has happened himself and barkley too much this season. Don't think he ever should have been marking their best header of ball in the first place.

3 central positions and only Besic/Barkley/Cleverley Mccarthy if you remove Barry/Gibson/Osman...

Hope Ledson comes through...

Besic, McCarthy, Cleverley - honestly think we are covered for that role, espeically with other areas needing attention.

Thing is Zat why do you constantly remove Barry/Gibson/Osman. Your reason is normally down to saying they won't play many games or be part of the squad by the end of the season, but based on what we've seen so far Barry at least will be.

I understand it's in relation to further down the line, but for the here and now - that being the next two windows - we're pretty set for central midfield.

Zat likes them young BT, the younger the better as far as he's concerned.

Aye. We are truly dire on crosses and it is something I think only Martinez can sort out. Barry has been great for us this season, but no way should he be marking an aerial threat like Dann in those situations.
Thing is, there's no need to set up your defenders to try and outjump the opposition. You just do what every other team does -- you just block the danger men from running on to the ball. We always give the opposition a free run at the ball.

If Everton are benefiting from the blossoming of their youngsters, and the absence of Europa League commitments, Coleman cites another factor: the enduring class of 34-year-old Gareth Barry. “I don’t know if the fans and the media see it but when you’re on the pitch and you’ve got someone like Gaz Barry in your team, you know you’re doing something right. You can see why he has played at such a high level because he always wants the ball. There have been times when you’re not having a good game and you might not want that ball, but no matter how he is playing, he always wants it.”

I don't know what this man is doing in the first team week in and week out for 2 years...doesn't help in attack, doesn't help in defence...scores no goals, provides no assists, very often loses the ball and makea mistakes that lead to goal for the oposition. Does every Everton manager need his own Phil Neville ?

While I'd exchange him for Carvalho at SCP any day, he's very much a Carsley type of player in his current state...unnoticed but essential in a lot of ways.

Christ, to even try and compare him to Phil Neville is cringeworthy.

He's far from perfect, but this season he's been one of our few consistently decent performers.
