Gareth Barry

It was also Barry's quick long pass out to Deulofeu that set Gerrard off to provide the assist to the goal.

Well I'll whisper it but I thought Barry didn't actually play that badly. He put in some good tackles and as you say his distribution was good. He was calm under pressure as well.

No team move the ball quicker than Arsenal nor does any team have as much pace. Barry's weaknesses were always going to be shown up. He deserves some stick for the second yellow and I'll be happy to give him it, but I'm sure he knew the second he committed that he'd done something stupid.

I thought Barry was fine tbh. Slightly glad of the red because t might force a change in tactics, but would have felt the same if it had been McCarthy.

And how many tackles did he make during the game? Awful use of statistics there..
True, I found the full tackle map instead, makes a lot more sense to look at that

its usually next game in the same competition rather than a red for a violent offence which would be three matches regardless of the competition.

No it's not.

A ban in a domestic competion applies to all other domestic competitions.

A red for 2 yellows is a 1 match ban for the next domestic competitive first team match.

Ozick v Barry was embarrassing 5 years ago never mind now. Will be good to see 90 mins without him. Another game closer to end of contract/retirement.

For his critics - he was better than McCarthy, again.

McCarthy has been shocking this season. Played well against the Rs I thought but that's about it.

If the performances had been swapped Barry would be getting so much stick and McCarthy would be getting fapped over. It's funny how preconceptions are not only stubborn but also massively influential way down the line.
