Fun Fact!

Gaz Baz has appeared in more Prem matches than Swansea, Hull, Watford, Burnley and Bournemouth combined.

Please just retire.
I would love to see us play a run of games without him in the team and only one holding midfielder. He himself hasn't been bad but we can't continue to play 2 holding midfielders and he doesn't have the legs to play there as a one.

I thought today when Cleverly was being brought on we might just do it.

However it was for Gueye and all it showed was that without Gueye we have no midfield.

Alot are saying Jags looks finished after the Chelsea match. How about Barry? He looked shot to pieces against their midfield and had a 'Germany moment'.

Without Gana he looks ineffective so imagine how good we would be with another high energy player there rather than Barry.

I like Barry but have been wondering the same, is he becoming a liability with his lack of pace, he's making a lot of errors as well, maybe it's time to try something new.

When you see Gana there its like watching a duracell bunny...same as Kante. Barry is the opposite really and I think we need high energy players all over the side.

He has never really had pace though. It's not like he was dead quick and it's deserted him.

I'm inclined not to judge him after one collectively bad performance, as he's been decent so far.

Another three or four games like that and then yeah maybe I'd agree - but not yet for me.

He's gonna wear out at some point though, obviously.

Good as he has been and one game isn't going to have me screaming he is finished - when basically he just showed he needs a energetic quality player next to him like Gana really

The major issue, is should we be relying on the form of a 36yo at the heart of our team mate - Barry will play every single game he is eligible for in the league this season, and in many ways thats a bad indictment about how poor our recruitment was during the summer

Against the real high energy pressing teams who have quality as well OR without Gueye next to him - then he will be a liability this season, he should be in the role of playing in certain games when the opposition suit him - NOT almost the first name on the team sheet.

Can guarantee right now IF Gerrard would have been an Everton player - or Lampard for example - they would still be playing 38 games a season for us, and that shows the gulf in ambition between these sides and us

I was watching a Gary Neville documentary and he was 35 and got subbed after a poor performance and he said in the documentary 'I knew I would never play again'. Though Gareth Barry has high standards we have to be looking to replace him with an even better player given his age. One with power and who can create or score goals as well as tackle and play the simple passes.
