He didn't run about as he didn't have to . He was a highly intelligent player who saw a few moves ahead . Thoroughly nice and humble bloke according to a few of my old mates .

showed his durability by playing until 39, showed versatility by playing holding midfield, central midfield and at times across defence and in a more attacking role.

Was amazing for us, will never forget the first game, where etoo rounded the goalie, and he got the block on the line.

Then when he came here, you realised immediately why he was rated by every team he`d played for.

Just like Richard Gough and Nigel Martyn, it would`ve been nice to get him in his pomp.

He was an absolute superb player and instrumental at City helping us win the first trophies after the takeover.
He was the player you only missed when he was not playing (if that makes sense!).
From all reports a true gentlemen as well.
