Gareth Barry - record breaker still with a role to play?

He's been a very decent man for us. He still has a ton of things to offer. We can find a place for him in our hearts. It would be nice if he could break the record as one of our players.

He is still very good, but needs legs next to him. His experience will be vital. Just can't play every game which I'm sure will be fine.

Christ Andy, can I be your bridesmaid.
Think he'll have a part to play, mainly Europa, EFL, and FAC, but think he will be quite restricted on PL appearances especially starts.

Unlikely to get too many start is exactly what I wrote, he'll be the very epitome of the experienced, limited appearance, dependable professional.

Very little to offer at this stage. He looks like a heavy duck waddling around the pitch. His mind is great but his body is just too far behind. Not as good as the likes of carrig for united. Has a range of simple passing alright and can offer a cool head and can offer something to a team in the premier but maybe for a midtable team. If we want to progress he should not be getting near the first 11. Brung him off the bench against quick pacy teams also is a no for me
Saying he can offer calmness and control is no good when the ball and players are zipping past him and we can all see he puts down his head, runs like a heavy duck and cant just get in position. He also has the most annoying habit which happens quite regular due to his position on the edge if the box of turning his back on shots. Its something i cannot understand. His abiluty to mark at corners is also very suspect and has been caught heavy legged unable to rise as his opponent wins the ball. No for me. I perfer if he was moved in. The return of besic /mcarthy would do for me into the fold (off the bench etc). Both can play that sitting position. Mccarthy has done it for ireland recently when he gets stinks out of hospital and he has been excellent there. ( but granted he cant be realied on due to his history of injury ) same as besic but if the are fit then they get the nod. If they dint remain fit both need to be movd on and replacements brought in. But barry goes first for me.

I think if he is played then the team tactics have to change to accomodate him! He still plays as though he was 25 and his legs cant deliver that anymore. So if he comes on he has to take a pirlo type role of doing nothing but collect and distribute the ball. He can still do that as well as anyone in my opinion ( and before anyone starts i am not comparing his passing range with Pirlo's). When he isnt playing, i would have him working with Unsy and Sheeds, speaking to the kids and showing them what a glorious and lengthy career you can have if you look after yourself and make the most of your abilities! Model pro as has been said many times!

He's past it and a liability. Besic and McCarthy are injury prone.

All 3 could be replaced by a healthy player.
