Erm yeah I think you've got the jist of it.

Is Bran now technically the Lord of Winterfell? If we ignore this whole Bolton situation. But everyone thinks he & Rickon are dead so who would it technically be, would it pass to the girls?

Presumably, but Sansa is now married so wouldn't her husband take the title? I mean, Catelyn didn't take over House Stark when Ned died, Robb did; Cersei didn't take the Iron throne when Robert Baratheon died, Joffrey did. This suggests that in Westeros women can't be in charge. The whole Daenerys situation would be a quirk based on the fact that she is the only member of her family left.

Arya, Bran and Rikon.

Some minor spoilers / background from the books:

Women are not banned from being in charge in Westeros - for instance the Mormont (the knight commander of the nights watch) lands descended to his sister after Jorah was exiled (she is briefly glimpsed in a couple of scenes in the first season). Both Catelyn and Cersei could potentially have claims on their own lands - Riverrun and Casterly Rock respectively - but dont have any claim on Winterfell or the throne, though their children do. Most of Westeros does however have the first son inherit all the titles (as most of medieval Europe did), however a certain part doesnt - as will become apparent in Season 4 (hopefully).

Dany is a bit different in that she is believed to be the last Targaryen alive, and her claim is no more valid than anyone elses (or rather, anyone else with three dragons, an army of baby-killing freed slaves, two exiled knights, Fabio and assorted ex-Hollyoaks calendar girls).

But that word I underlined there, was that deliberately used if you know what I mean?

Well because she's married I'd have thought it'd fall to being hers or someone's until she has a son, but then it all gets a bit confusing!
