Have you ever heard of episodes of series' that are there to 'set up' the story? It was the first episode of a new season, some 12 months after the previous one. Its was never going to be an all guns (swords) blazing, massive battle, 6 major characters killed off in one go type of episode.

I for one really enjoyed it. I get that others have different opinions.

There are only seven episodes, and this is season seven. It shouldn't need setting up the story, and there were more than a couple of scenes that strongly suggested they were padding the episode out.
