What happened to Bran Stark?

Doesn't get a storylime till next season apparently. Never got the hype around him, bit of a boring character for me. I could have seen him playing more of a role but they've really played down magic compared to the books so can't see where they're taking him

They announced before the series started that him and Hodor won't be in this series but will be back in the next one. Maybe we'll see a little bit of them in the final episode as a teaser but that's a guess.
