Not just that but he's down to 2 years left on his deal in the summer.

Basically you either have to offer him a new deal, sell him or neither but you then lose him for either a reduced fee or nothing in his final 12-18 months of his deal.

For the wages he's likely on and the fee he would bring in being an "England international" I would definitely be looking to sell if someone offered anywhere near £20-25 million.
