Congratulations a chara, a great win in the end.

Still can’t believe Cavan were in Div 4.
Tipp were in All Ireland SFs against Mayo in 2016 and 2020. Hard to believe they have gone down so far either.

Cavan has a small population, but I hope every year for something special. Last great years were 1997 and 2020 but they have 40 Ulster titles.

I had the pleasure of knowing John Wilson who grew up with my Dad. Both Mullahoran men. I think there were six from that very rural parish on the team that won in the NY Polo Grounds in 1947.

They served Mass together but also stole apples from the PP's orchard :)

I love an away trip to Cavan, always stay the night for the craic.

John Wilson was a brilliant intellectual. He was fluent in French, Spanish, Latin, Greek and Russian. Possibly German too. He rose to be Tánaiste (Deputy PM) under Haughey. He died the day after his 84th birthday. My Dad passed the following year.

I like to imagine them reliving their childhood and Cavan's All Ireland's.

Niall Toibin RIP did a lot of damage with his jokes about mean Cavan people. Any time I have visited Cavan I have found the most generous welcome.

Hopefully I will get up there in the coming months. I also have a grá for Leitrim from where my Dad's ancestors came. Lovely people

I know Drumshambo well but think I have only watched Armagh play Leitrim once now I think about it.

Great win for the wee county. Limerick poor but Louth kept their foot to the floor right to the end. A few little Tyrone tactics appeared towards the end :-)

A common misspelling mate. Drumshanbo - the back or ridge of the old huts :) The gin has really taken off!!

My crew came from Drumkeeran originally north of Lough Allen. My Great Grandfather moved to teach in Mullahoran around 1880

I knew the spelling but my fat fingers typed it wrong ?

Actually don’t know Cavan that well, just in and around the town itself.

Dad grew up in the metropolis of Kilcogy, which is very near the Longford and Westmeath borders. Never played at County level but played with Cavan Slashers when he was an apprentice in Cavan. I think they are now Cavan Gaels.

His mate John Wilson was a Cavan Legend. He also knew Louis Blessing who was older than them and scored a goal in winning in 1933.

Fascinating game between Cork and Waterford in the SHL Division 1 final. Lots of turnovers but what displays of commitment and putting bodies on the line....and Waterford just got a great goal.

3 points in it. Make that two goals. 6 points in it only 27 minutes gone
