I don't think any performance justifies booing. Thats my personal choice.

I would say that todays first half performance was equally as bad as some of the recent home performances. However i didn't hear any boos from our away fans
I think the expectations at home against teams that are below you in the league are and/or should be different than any game on the road, but thats my personal opinion:) Hopefully a win on Tuesday will be the start of our home production being closer to our road production and this conversation will be moot:)

That's because we are utter garbage at home, Even average home form would have us in the top 4.
No it wouldn't.

The points average in the PL for teams at home is 19.75 - lets be generous to your point and round it up to 20 pts.

Everton's home form has won 16 points which is 4 short of the rounded up average of 20.

Adding those 4 points to Everton's total points tally gives us 41 points.

We'd be in 6th place.
6th place is not top 4.

Our away form, as an aside, has won us 21 points. The PL average is 14.2

I take it you’re taking the average for the whole league. That’s including the dross like wolves and Burnley who significantly drag that figure down. We aren’t even in the top 10 for points attained in the league, even Leeds are ahead of it. The teams above us vying for European and champions league places average mid 20 points. I think that gives us a fairer reflection.

On the positive, there was light of potential in the second half.
Some forward takeaways from the game for me
- KDH and Garner instead of Garner and Gana should open up the possibility to play Ndaiye and George in front (and left or right). Dibling or ? to come on.
Armstrong would seemingly become a back up to KDH and will be needed. KDH should not be overplayed right now, 60ish min for now.
Garner is showing he should go to world cup. That first half of interceptions etc kept the team in it, otherwise games totally gone. Can KDH fill Gana's role is a huge question for this side in terms of potential.
Will Gorge get bounced around like Barry has or will Ndaiye show George the way.
JOB needs to play CB. How long will Moyes wait (if ever) for JOB-JB? See JOB get done for the goal, I think it was, and then see him when the game is not the chasing kind but the come through me kind, his particular type of real estate is like the king in the centre, leave other stuff for the queen's. I can see him becoming a huge set piece scorer, assister. Now that hes scored a goal up against the keeper - pin it to the jumper and get back out amongst it. What is Moyes doing putting your main potential threat doing throw ins and blocking goalies. I wonder if its a head impact issue (bring in the effing head guards yesterday).
But for JOB to so perfectly thwart the goalie in that way speaks volumes about what he presents.
Then there's Rolls Royce.
And then for me man of the match - Pickford (even though he overanticipated for the goal, I think it was....)
Defence so much better in squeezing the space in second half see credit go to Moyes, this team can absorb a lot of heat, moving forward may rest in Moyes fear of what different wide backs will bring.
Good win, Newcastle game becomes big....after we put the Mancs back in their box of rattles. COYB!

The person you’re replying to was replying to someone else who stated (incorrectly) that average home form would have us in top four.

There is no “fairer reflection” as it was a direct reply to a factually incorrect statement. It’s not “fair” to change the words of the person to whom you’re replying.

If the OP had wanted to say “we’d be in the top four if our home form was the same as the teams in the top half of the league” … they could have said that; but they likely didn’t say that because it sounds stupid. Of course we would. “We’d be in the top four if we had the same number of points as Arsenal” is true but also very stupid.
