XXXL though?!!?!?!?

Yeah, I don't "look" like an XXXL but I am really wide for example. XXXL wouldn't just take your gut into account. I am normally an XXL in every day clothes, maybe an XL if I am lucky but I also have a 19 and a half inch neck so sometimes you got to go big depending on the cut of the shirt. To be honest I could probably stand to lose a stone or two but even at my physically lowest weight I would still need the same size shirt as that's how I am built.

Nobody wants to see my finely chiselled yet massive chest looking like moobs in an ill fitting umbro top.

Actually some probably would but those people are weird...

This is why I prefer adidas stuff, they are a lot of more giving to the larger, more manly man.

Our deal with SportPesa troubles me a lot due to a close, younger family member getting himself in big trouble with football gambling, fortunately GA ( Gambling Anonymous) has helped him enormously. SportPesa are what they are, but I don’t see any attempt from them to support other activities from the money they earn , maybe they do.

It’s a bit ironic that on a site that has one of the best sites on Depression and Mental Health on any football fan site that we also have a thread encouraging people to gamble. I know most people will disagree with this, many enjoy gambling responsibly which is fair enough, but when you see the other side of the effect gambling can have you take a different view.

I get all this but I don't think the post itself is advocating gambling as such. Its just saying get yourself a cheap Everton shirt by putting a random bet on.

Hmm, think you’re splitting hairs a bit there. SportPesa is a commercial gambling company, that’s not against the law, my view remains that we have a thread encouraging people to gamble and increase their profits. Seems wrong to me , you and others disagree.

Yeah but the mode of operation of these sleazy companies is that they'll also flog your data to a thousand other operators, so it won't just be one email i'd have to drag. Yet to see an offer tempting enough to make me put up with that sort of stuff.

Don't forget the words "subject to availability". This means they could harvest thousands of hopeful people's data for the cost of one shirt that gets sent out.

" sorry mate, thanks for your interest and for signing up, but no more shirts are available."

Pretty sure they have to declare when they are sharing your data nowadays don't they? Tbh I only skimmed the t&cs, but there's so much junk mail out there anyway, a few more won't make much of a difference. I do have a separate email add though for stuff I think is going to incur a lot of spam solicitations tho...

Whilst I wouldn't be surprised if there were a slightly disproportionate number of XS, XXL etc shirts in the pool, I don't imagine they'd want to be pissing off too many Everton fans as they are our main sponsor, and we one of their biggest clients.

If you took the time to reply every time that Chris shows what a miserable so-and-so he is then you would have a very high post count.

Haha, well considering how long I've been here I do need to get my rate up... :o

Everton have shared the post as well so you would assume they are prepared for the quantity of people signing up. I think it’s Everton’s way of getting sport pesa some more business while also spreading their own merchandise and essentially flogging shirts that they are struggling to flog due to price. It will all be tied in to the contracts though.

I have the same problem with being sponsored by a gambling firm as by an alcohol firm but unfortunately, the vices is where the money is.

Also, gdpr won’t allow them to share the data, and even if they do, what data have they asked for that 99.99% of people won’t already have put online somewhere already.

Why we moved away from Paddy Powers sponsorship, and don't accept the weekly offers we get from gambling firms... People should be able to log on GOT, and not see Gambling messages (Some slip through unfortunately but we pull them as/when we spot them)

We have to think of other ways to raise funds, forum sponsor upgrades, everton mishmash etc.

Generally not a fan of nanny culture but the volume of gambling messaging in football has to stop, and it will in time. Its ridiculous.

Very good post. Like drugs and alcohol, gambling ruins lives and this is offer is a potential gateway to this.

I see what you’re getting at however I started the depression thread and I like a pint.

Because alcohol causes low mood in some people should we stop everyone having a drink? I agree gambling firms should have tighter regulation though, don’t get me wrong and I’m glad your friend got help. Don’t get me started on skyBet.

But at what point do people need to take responsibility for their own actions?
