He knew what he was doing to get the wins he’s had, same with getting the point against Leicester. He also set us up great against both City and yesterday. What can’t be legislated for is not getting pens v Southampton, City and the RS or having Allan sent off v Newcastle
Or the ludicrous injuries continuing

Should have kept Benitez and saved millions but the club pandered to the players downing tools and rabid fans yet again.

Even if we had gone down he would have brought us back up most likely. Its uncertain if Lampard would do that going off his Derby stint.
hahaha get to f*** mate seriously

you'll be buzzing about our impending relegation anyway won't you?

Appointing Benitez was the worst thing Moshiri has done. And it tops a big, big list.

Do you ever re read your s***e?

I'd blame the players individual mistakes and failure to step up over and over through the season more than Lampard and that's even though I do think he has made mistakes of course. But we really have some braindead gutless players who threw in the towel in many games where we could have got points throughout the season.

We've been in the relegation spots under the trio of Koeman, Silva & Lampard.

Wuz all Benitez I tells ya !
No flip back a page I actually said although they've player a part the root of it isn't any one of the seven managers we have had in six years, it's the mismanagement from the top down. But my point was how Benitez divided the fanbase and mishandled the squad in my view also his out dated tactics helped lead us into a slump a competent manager would have us lower mid table at worse for me if they had taken over the hand they were dealt in the summer. For one Digne wouldn't have gone. Of course the recruitment, an imbalanced squad and chaos at board level are big factors too. Anyway it's all moot now.

We were in the relegation spot under Silva for one day and he was sacked, in December. He'd won 2 out of 9.

Benitez won 1 game in 14 - 14!!!!! - and was allowed to just rip up everything above him and quite a lot of what was below him.

I can see why he was sacked - but I personally dont believe we should have caved in to the squad of players who've done this to numerous managers.

Had we kept Silva/Koeman I have no doubt their records would have gone into that 1 in 14 territory because the players have no fight and mixed in with a toxic atmosphere from the stands when results are bad it always results in a manager losing their head when the axe is struck.

In our situation this season we just needed to have stuck until the summer and gone from there. Unless you were appointing a firefighter type replacement it was pointless bringing in someone like Lampard realistically.

It wasn't just caving into the players though. He was a) divisive b) really bad c) devious with his PR machine and d) clueless

He was an awful, awful pick, because he's not a good manager

This isn't a defence of Lampard. He's made mistakes, but recently he's found a style which should have resulted in more points and only didn't because of mistakes and basic errors.

it's just groundhog day once again, positive results are the onus of the manager regardless the quality of the squad and you're back to directing blame at the fans when you should look at the woeful tactics employed by Benitez. Not only was it 1 win in 14, the matches weren't even remotely competitive the norwich game Everton were soundly beaten and you naively think he would of engineered a response if he stayed"?" Yeah Frank has struggled but the matches we lost besides tottenham have been less decisive. He had flaws in his tactics and selections too but not to the extent of Benitez so im still backing him. Also Benitez fostered an acrimonious atmosphere not the fans and banished our two most creative players and bringing in unestablished entities as replacements. So he basically sabotaged Frank before he even began

Mate, you really need to wise up to the fact that Benitez was a complete and utter disaster of an appointment by Moshiri.

If, if we get relegated, there are many people who should shoulder the blame… starting with the owner and the board… and Benitez too. Lampard might also need to accept some degree of responsibility but, anyone who thinks Benitez was good for this club needs to give their head a serious wobble.
