Needs to be a thread of possible managers who couldn't be worse than Lampard.

I nominate June Brown off Eastenders, even though she is over ninety and recently died.

Yep she managed the launderette in style. She would know what to do.

Benitez was a defensive manager, so was Allardyce, so was Ancelotti. Apart from a small period under Ancelotti and a few games under Allardyce and Benitez we’ve been terrible defensively. Unless we’re going to go out and get Simeone, I don’t know who would sort these defenders out.

They’re just very very poor. Keane Coleman Kenny Holgate are championship standard players. All our defensive midfielders are injured or suspended. These are the results.

Benitez, Ancelotti and allardyce didnt get us relegated.

I want long term continuity. I accepted relegation in November, the rot had set in and people didn’t want to accept it. One club always drops like a rock and that’s us.

So sacking him ain’t changing anything, just more turmoil

Am the same. We need a long term coach in there. But I don’t want to stick by Lampard just for the sake of continuity.

It’s too late to sack him now anyway but I’m really not convinced he was the right appointment. Looks out of his depth a little here.

I think we've thrown 4 points away in the last 4 days: levelling against WHU then leading Burnley 2-1; we shouldm have seen everyone behind the ball. We're way too open.

With a heavy heart and a lot of embarrassment I think we have to hand him Saturday but then appoint another manager if it isn't a 3 point return.

We are far too open. But Allan is out (his legs have gone anyway) Doucoure’s form has fallen off a cliff and Delph is never fit. As bad as we’ve been defensively our inability to protect our back four from midfield is a massive issue. Furthermore Patterson has to start on Saturday, if Coleman isn’t fit as Kenny is a liability and has been for some time.

Everyone pretending like Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison etc.. are relegation fodder.

Get a manager that in that kens his onions. That is half the battle. Lampard is lost. Send him back down to London.

Calvert Lewin is pathetic. Richarlison is our best player other than Pickford.

Let's stop acting like we have good players when we have won about 3 in 20 league games.

We all knew what the players were like, it’s why the majority didn’t want the fat kopite. An awful set of attitudes matched with the arrogance of a fat kopite……it was a disaster waiting to happen

If by some Devine miracle we stay up (unlikely after tonight) frank needs to have the bollocks to clear the lot of them out and start again. I would only keep Richy but wouldn’t actually be arsed if he went.

This, said as much to my mates on our WhatsApp group, we sack him then the arseholes win yet again and won’t play for the rest of the season. A sacking accepts our fate

It's too late for that. Nobody is turning this ship around this season. We need to hope we just do enough. What are we missing currently? A past it right back, a useless centre back (and a permacrocked one) a bog average midfielder and a lad on loan who has done next to nothing.

There is not a lot that can be changed. That's the big worry. Other than taking a risk on El Ghazi or Dele i'm not sure what else we can do here.

It probably is too late. But it's defo happening under Lampard. We have to do something if we dont beat United. He has to go. Just a figurehead in the dugout might get them going.

Good post, the responsibility for this mess lies at Moshiri's feet. At the moment he is like the Scarlet Pimpernel along with our chairman.

It really is. I know people will want to find a scapegoat or just have some sort of hope that a new manager could make a difference but it's the end result of where this board, where moshiri has taken us.

It's times like these (that you learn to love again) that you look at your squad and bring something new into the mix. To change things up and fight. What exactly do we have? We don't have a single other player at the club who you could look at now and say they would make a difference. 500 million spent and you can't pick out a single player in the squad that could make a difference.

We have a poor defence , we have no striker now let's be honest and wingers who can do winger things but for what end result?

Worst takeover in premier league history by a country mile. And bill said other chairman ask what would Everton do.

I don’t mind Lampard and he truly looks bitterly disappointed with what’s going on, but personally I wanted Dunc until the summer I honestly think we would be in a better position if he had got until then.

Well, they’ve all managed to avoid relegation, or at least they’ve been sacked before doing so.

I think Lampard has no idea as to how to organise this defence and is really out of his depth in a relegation scrap - another wrong appointment, after a wrong appointment.

He has two senior centre backs out. No midfield. missing two right backs. I take your point and I’d agree if he was playing with a full deck, he isn’t though.

Yes mate, I kind of said that in my post. I.e. it's all conjecture. Not sure what point you're making here?

We go round in circles with a manager and not the players.

A full rebuild from every player in the squad is needed.
