Do you only partially select the information you read regarding our playstyle?

When missing your 4 most creative and dangerous players, and their replacements in the likes of Hammond/king (who are 3rd/4th choice), you're never going to play a style which you usually do. Of course you were missing barkley, but add the likes of lukaku, barry and mccarthy to that list and the game yesterday would have been a totally different story.

The long ball was a result of using your weaknesses. The first time we cleared the ball forward, Jagielka and Distin looked lost and didn't know what to do against Ulloa. So of course we continued to try that, but also tried to play.

Whether we looked 'poor' or not is of course opinion. From our point of view Lukaku looked like he was the inferior priced striker on the pitch not Ulloa, whilst one of the most experienced defence combinations in the league baines/distin/jagielka looked very worried at times.


The game was very even, just looking at the stats proves so. The amount of the ball you have is irrelevant, especially given the fact that we both created the same amount of chances. The disappointment from yourselves is understanding, but to label us as 'poor', when we were newly promoted side missing our key players and no worse than yourselves is just bitter in all honesty.

Battled for a point, other way round and we would say we deserved it, so fair play in the end.

We will do whatever it takes to get the points, if we are playing a superior team (which you are) and we aren't being allowed to play how we'd normally like (which is on the floor) then we'll try going long if we can. I think the reason we got 102 points is because we don't pigeon hole ourselves down one particular style.

I would say the injury to Vardy and the inclusion of Ulloa probably also meant we went that way more than we perhaps normally might, when we play with a big man (which was very rare last year) we would tend to rush into a punt rather than what we'd normally do and try and work some space and attack at pace.... That and the fact we were missing our two first choice CM's who usually dictate the play.


I thought the result was pretty fair really. You had lots of the ball, but I think you'd admit you didn't really create too much more than us. I think the shots for and shots on target show that.

Some of your play down the left first half was top draw, Pienarr really caught the eye. Gave our players a lesson in creating your own space and using the ball quickly. The gulf in class between yourselves and the teams we played last year was pretty frightening at times, I'm sure we were all sat there for a while wondering what had hit us for a while.

Second half we came back into it, created a few chances without really ever flowing. But we got to grips with Pienarr and Baines, so your biggest out dried up until Mirallas came on and looked a threat. Was very disappointed in Lukaku, who was handled at ease today by Morgan and Moore.

I was thrilled to walk away with a point first game considering our small squad and injuries (especially with our start), hopefully it settles everyone's nerves a bit and perhaps if you catch a few of our games we might be a bit less "stoke" next time.

To be fair to Lukaku, he was only really playing because of the injury to Barkley. The lads you mentioned should/did handle him well considering his lack of match time.

If you watched the Premier League last year and continue to watch it this year you'll understand what a massive talent Lukaku is.

What choice did we have? We need a focal point to our attacks and Naismith can't be that. Could've got away with playing Naismith upfront if Barkley was playing but he wasn't, so we would've ended up with Osman behind Naismith. Even though RL didn't have a good game it allowed other players to thrive on the system we're allowed to play with Lukaku upfront.

That's exactly the sort of crying Arsenal fans have done for years which has annoyed me so much.

If a team is physical you need to be physical back. Let the ref do his job and if he's letting them get away with pushes, shoves, trips, stamps etc. then do it yourself.

If you can't deal with physicality you're not a good side. Barcelona dominated world football for years with an average height of about 5'9 by being brilliant, Chelsea have won things by being physical back when necessary. You've got to adapt.

Went down easily one time, whenever he does it he often gets criticized for it, which is more than you can say for clubs like Arsenal or Liverpool. Baines was good in the first half, but Leicester did well to close him and Pienaar down after that.

The fact we improved after tweaking our style at the break proves that we are not 'one dimensional' yet once we stopped the baines/pienaar domination, yourselves did not create another chance.

Don't think the quality in the players or how they play are up to standard to keep em up this year. Same with Burnley.

That was what impressed me tbh mate. The half time changes you made. But we did, create in the 2nd half that is, but not as much. You will be fine.
