i really really like how over the course of one season we've become total football snobs
i used to hate idiots who said their style of football is better than another
now we have lovely football. so now i get it. and i vomit in the face of inferior football.

We can't all play scintillating tikka takka football like yourselves lol

Haha. But we should admit, it took us 10 years to get there. After about 6 years of consolidating our place in the PL with a safety first approach. Realism first, beauty to follow...maybe something similar for your side?

My views on the opposition from watching Match of the day.

They have a big drum

They play Kashabian track "Fire" when they score

They done the Poznan.

Verdict : Hopefully relegation for these bad wool traits.

View from another Fox.....

Playing against a side who has recently been promoted is always tough, no matter what league you are in, we found that last season when drawing against Yeovil.

The game itself was rather odd. There is no doubt that on paper you had the strongest side, at least with regards to reputations within the footballing world.
But as i said it was a very strange afternoon.

You were undoubtedly better at keeping the ball, which isn't surprising considering..

1) Anyone with any football knowledge understands the Martinez philosophy.
2) General Premier league experience
3) We were missing our three first choice midfielders (Drinkwater, james and Albrighton).

But whilst you were better at keeping the ball, i honestly felt as though we looked to have the better attack, when you consider how little of the ball we actually had.
For the 75 minutes he was on the pitch, Ulloa created endless problems for distin and jagielka, winning around 50% of all aerial and shoulder to shoulder battles with them. Whereas at the other end of the pitch Lukaku was, well let us be honest, 'bullied'. I did expect to see far more from him.

We are not a Stoke II

It is mildly amusing to see you label us as that, but i suppose it is fair given what you saw. The reason for the amusement though is that over the past 18 months we had only scored 1 goal from corners, whereas last season, 40% of our conceded goals came from set pieces. With the exception of Morgan and Ulloa, we have no natural height or physicality in the side at all, we only have 3 players over six foot who started today. I was expected to be bullied today from the likes of jagielka, distin etc, but the fact we were not would cause me worries as a toffee fan.

I'm not going to pretend we are a Swansea II either. We do like to get the ball down and play, that is why you had so much joy going forward. We don't play wide players
who track back, that much was very much obvious. The reason we struggled to play our normal game was simple, we were missing 4 first team players through injury.

Our Player of the season last year (Drinkwater who went off early)
Our player's player of the season last year (Vardy-our first choice striker)
Drinkwater's partner and my vote for POTY last season (Matty james)
Our new first choice winger (Albrighton)

I too understand that you were missing Barkley, but to put it into perspective, you would have to add barry, pienaar and lukaku to that list aswell

Basing the fortunes of a side after one game is silly, but i understand your comments of 'you're going down' are just reactionary, because if that was the case, then on
todays showing you would be aswell.

Everton

positives - obvious premier league class
- Strength in-depth (at least in comparison to ourselves)
- Baines/Pienarr combo

negatives - Looked very tired past the 70 min mark
- Jagielka/Distin/lukaku, bullied.

Leicester

positives - Work ethic
- Players who we were going to sell last week (wood and hammond) stepped up.
- Extremely fit

negatives - Ball retention
- Tried to over play too much when the long ball gave a problem every time
- Injuries again

Actually Swansea II may be Stoke II

The match was pretty much wide open and exciting to watch in the 1st half. Plus I thought this match was the best of the Saturday matches. I was kind of suprised you gave us so much room to work. I picked foxes to finish around 12th this year so ehh. There is nothing I saw from Arsenal and Spuds that would have me believe that they are better than us right now. Plus there is nothing I saw from Man U that makes me think that they won't win the 8th place trophy.

102 points In the championship playing like that?

all Ive heard is ' easy on the eye, passing team, attack is BY FAR OUR GREATEST strength '. Im going to put it down to first day nerves and the fact our two CB's were wobbling from anything in the air, because it was ' punt it to the front of the D ' time and again.

Stoke in blue.

I will look forward to seeing this passing team in the coming weeks and just why you finished on 102 points last season.

We will do whatever it takes to get the points, if we are playing a superior team (which you are) and we aren't being allowed to play how we'd normally like (which is on the floor) then we'll try going long if we can. I think the reason we got 102 points is because we don't pigeon hole ourselves down one particular style.

I would say the injury to Vardy and the inclusion of Ulloa probably also meant we went that way more than we perhaps normally might, when we play with a big man (which was very rare last year) we would tend to rush into a punt rather than what we'd normally do and try and work some space and attack at pace.... That and the fact we were missing our two first choice CM's who usually dictate the play.

I thought the result was pretty fair really. You had lots of the ball, but I think you'd admit you didn't really create too much more than us. I think the shots for and shots on target show that.

Some of your play down the left first half was top draw, Pienarr really caught the eye. Gave our players a lesson in creating your own space and using the ball quickly. The gulf in class between yourselves and the teams we played last year was pretty frightening at times, I'm sure we were all sat there for a while wondering what had hit us for a while.

Second half we came back into it, created a few chances without really ever flowing. But we got to grips with Pienarr and Baines, so your biggest out dried up until Mirallas came on and looked a threat. Was very disappointed in Lukaku, who was handled at ease today by Morgan and Moore.

I was thrilled to walk away with a point first game considering our small squad and injuries (especially with our start), hopefully it settles everyone's nerves a bit and perhaps if you catch a few of our games we might be a bit less "stoke" next time.

Good luck... please finish above Liverpool.

I have to disagree with that on today's performance.

He dived for a penalty against Knockaert when there was no contact whatsoever, and then continued to appeal for the goal which was disallowed when the ball was clearly a couple of yards out of play.

Blinding player mind, but i did expect him to have more quality than he showed today, given the fact that he got into good positions time and time again and the only success he had was when Pienaar fortunately deflected his cross into Naismith's path.

I haven't watched the game back like and either didn't see the penalty incident from where I was stood so I can't possibly comment. Baines had a really good first half in my opinion though him and Pienaar teared your right side to shreds, which is pretty common for any team when playing Pienaar & Baines at their best.

We don't have many players who go down easily for fouls or dive, and if Bainesey did today it's a shock because as I say he's the furthest you could get from a cheat in football, that's not his character.

They did play like that I seen some games of them on TV - they won some games they should have lost - just like yesterday!

I was overall happy with much of our play and felt that in the first half we were creating chances regularly enough to go on the win comfortably. But we did not create nearly enough in the second and a one goal lead is never really enough. Leicester were tenacious and hung in there so would not begrudge them their point although I feel we let you off the hook a bit. Good luck for rest of season.

I'm amused how these fans have become cocky all of a sudden, first game back, lots of hunger, and an opposition, who may aswell of not bothered turning up in Pre-Season, yet there was only a draw.

Yawn. Your side was poor, we were equally poor, but alas, it was thoroughly entertaining.

Not for a goal mate. Knowing Baines personality on the pitch over the years I would say he was appealing for a corner. We could all see it went out of play but it was harder to judge who knocked it out of play.

They were a bit physical but they have to be to get results. No point playing pretty football if you haven't got the players to do it. You would get slaughtered. They have seen Derby not get stuck in and Blackpool play fancy stuff and go down and know you have to do what you can to get to 40 points. I think they will, the big lump up front looked useful and caused us loads of problems, could be a useful signing for them.

Ain't he the bad man coming on an open internet forum to talk about football.

This place has always welcomed fans from other clubs, it's part of what made it what it was. So that's a moot point to begin with.

He never made an incorrect statement, he offered an opinion you disagreed with.

And yes, I do think you're a bell. Act like one, I'll call you one.
It really is that simple.

Sure. Okay. So I disagreed. I thought that the result wasn't fair, which it rarely is.

So if you think I'm being a bell you can call me one but I'm not allowed to disagree with someone when they say something I disagree with? Hypocrisy at its finest.

utter bull mate, he was clipped for the first one, not a pen but definitely clipped (accidental),
the second one he's appealing for the corner not the goal, no ones that soft
